Brunswick
sits on the banks of the Kennebec River near the Atlantic Ocean on the mid-coast of Maine. Originally settled in 1628, the town of Brunswick has the largest population of any city located along this section of the coast. An active community, nonetheless, Brunswick retains a small town/New England style charm. It’s home to Bowdoin College and the Brunswick Naval Air Station, which is host to occasional air shows featuring performances such as The Blue Angels. Brunswick also offers visitors a variety of restaurant choices, both causal and fine dining, unique shops, as well as theaters, museums and several festivals that are held here throughout the year. It’s just a short drive to other mid-coast attractions such as outlet shopping and the charming coastal towns of Harpswell, Orr’s Island, Boothbay Harbor and Bay Harbor. Atlantic coast beaches are 5-10 minutes away, with activities such as swimming, boating, sailing, snorkeling, water-skiing and jet skiing. Non-beach activities include hiking, rock climbing, golf, biking and hunting. Brunswick is approximately 25 miles northeast of Portland, Maine’s largest city.

The Southwest Coast of Maine near Casco Bay has four seasons with mild summer temperatures in the 70s and low 80s. Interior areas experience a greater range of temperatures in the summer than low-lying coastal areas. Expect cool sea breezes, especially at night. Widely scattered thunderstorms, along with higher humidity levels, can occur along with patchy fog along the coast. Maine%u2019s coastal climate is ranked second to the Pacific Northwest in annual precipitation, and this moisture occurs in every from %u2013 from rain to ice and snow. Winters in Maine are quite cold with temperatures ranging from 11 to 31 degrees F. Average annual snowfall is 61 inches although snow melts more quickly along the coast than further inland.
