Bayside
is a charming Victorian village in "Mid-Coast" Maine, approximately 3 miles south of Belfast. Visitors will find lots to do in Bayside with its two beaches for swimming, and a community wharf for more swimming and boating floats. The village common in Bayside has a playground and basketball court for public use. Bayside sits along the picturesque Penobscot Bay coastline, with its wide ocean vistas, shoreline of giant granite boulders and pretty cobblestone beaches. Nearby Belfast has fine seafood restaurants and shopping for one of kind gifts and collectibles. This area of Maine is well known for their antique shops and exceptionally well made crafts. The town of Camden is 15 miles further south along the coast from Bayside and has more of the same. There is also much to do in the great outdoors surrounding Bayside, including hiking and biking in the Camden Hills State Park, picnicking at one of the other numerous parks along the coast, or visiting Acadia National Park, just over an hours drive away. Bayside is located in what is considered the "heart of Coastal Maine," and is a perfect central location for exploring the small coastal towns and fishing villages, inland rolling hills and farmland that make up this beautiful part of the state.

Southeast Maine , along the Atlantic Seacoast, has a distinct four-season climate. This area, often referred to as "Downeast Maine," includes the Acadia National Park and Mount Desert Island. Visitors are advised to come prepared for a variety of weather conditions in this part of Maine because the climate is highly changeable. Temperatures in summer can range as much as 45 degrees F to 85 degrees F. Spring and fall temperatures vary from 30 degrees F to 70 degrees F. You may also encounter fog or rain at any time. The Maine coastal climate is ranked second to only the Pacific Northwest in annual precipitation. This moisture occurs in every form at Acadia National Park. Ice storms are regular in winter and early spring. Average annual rainfall is 48 inches and average annual snowfall is 61 inches.
