Sinclair
is a small town in Aroostook County, which is located in the upper northeastern corner of the state. This is wilderness country - the place to come to really get away from it all where there is something for every type of outdoor enthusiast. One of Sinclair's biggest draws is its' close proximity to Aroostook County's impressive snowmobile trail system. Other popular recreational activities in Sinclair include camping, fishing, boating, and hunting, cross country skiing and sledding and wildlife viewing. It's not uncommon to see moose and other wildlife while visiting Sinclair. Seven beautiful, pristine lakes are located here and are known for their excellent salmon and trout fishing. Lodging, shopping and restaurants can be found in Sinclair and in nearby Fort Kent. The Canadian border is just a half-hour away from the town of Sinclair. Aroostook County has a strong French-Acadian heritage, and there are several special events throughout the year to celebrate the history of the area, such as the Acadian Festival, the Potato Blossom Festival and the Can-Am Dog Sled Races. The fort is located at the confluence of the St. John and Fish Rivers, and has picnic facilities and campsites.

Sinclair Weather & Climate

The Maine North Woods region in the northeast corner of the state borders the Canadian provinces of New Brunswick and Quebec. The four-season climate is punctuated by sharp changes in the weather. Northern Maine has cold to frigid winters with over 150 inches of snow per year, making it one of the best regions in the state for skiing and snowmobiling. As the days grow longer in March, the snow begins to recede. However, snowstorms can still occur until mid-April, although it does not usually stay on the ground for long. Summers are delightful with mild to warm daytime temperatures and cool evenings - nothing but fresh air, plenty of sunshine and more than 2,000 lakes, streams and rivers for outdoor recreation. Autumn in northern Maine has glorious displays of fall foliage along with crisp, cool mornings, bright sunny days and cold nights. Rainfall is moderate and can occur anytime of the year, although summer is generally the rainy season.
