Kezar Lake is located in Maine’s western White Mountain region and has been named by National Geographic as “one of the three most beautiful lakes in the world.” Undoubtedly, one of the reasons is it has remained virtually unspoiled after over a century of tourism. Kezar Lake is 9 miles long and a mile wide and is dotted with a few small islands. This pristine mountain lake and the nearby White Mountain National Forest area offers literally dozens of activities such as swimming, boating and fishing for salmon, bass, and trout, water-skiing, canoeing, hiking, picnics and cookouts, horseshoes, horseback riding and more. The Kezar Lake Country Club offers golf, and there are five other golf courses within a half-hour drive. Shawnee Peak, New England’s largest nighttime skiing facility is also just minutes from Kezar Lake. Many enjoy birdwatching and wildlife viewing at the lake, while others say nothing beats drifting off to sleep to the sound of loons in the background. Kezar is both a cold and warm water lake, and having unique stream feeders provides a wide diversity of wildlife. For shopping and restaurants, the small town of Lovell is just a short drive from Kezar Lake.
